The Gift of Art to Ambre

This illustration is about the very special relationship between a happy father and his daughter.
Like my father did for me, i like to draw with my little Ambre and show her simple shapes telling stories.
She's only 22 monthes old but she's totally open to life, she enjoys drawing with me and frequently asks for it. So i give her this drawing as well as i give her what it represents, my knowledge and pleasure to draw.

The drawing on the board is a real scanned art from her. I like the way it seems to represent her brain activity, with neuronal connections so it gave me the idea to depict the other part of the illustration, the construction of a personnality.

The shark on the magnetic tablet sketchpad is the first shape that i remember well my father did for me. I reproduced it so much times that i think this is the drawing done for me that was decisive for becoming an illustrator. So i want to give that to my daugher.

But all of this doesn't mean that i want absolutly Ambre to be an illustrator, or ever an artist at all. That's why i represented some projections of who she could be in the future, a dancer, a drummer, or a mathematician. She will be who she wants and i'll support her.

All done on my Wacom Cintiq 22HD touch, the main work on lines and colors with Autodesk Sketchbook pro 6, and some additionnal effects with brushes in Photoshop CS6.
